UT Martin Slapped With Penalties

The University of Tennessee Martin has been put on one years’ probation and fined $25,000 by the NCAA for level II violations within the program. The violations stem from midyear scholarship increases that were required by the coaching staff to be returned along with reimbursing teammates for donations. Additional recruiting violations also occurred under former head coach Brian Dunn, who has also been given a two-year show-cause penalty during which any future institutional employer must restrict him from athletically related activities. Current head coach Chelsea Farmer who served as an assistant coach at the time, was given a one-year show-cause penalty. She also was given a five-game suspension which was served in February. The program also received a two-week ban on all recruiting activities.
