Sooners Still No. 1 After First Loss

Despite losing their first game of the 2022 season to No. 16 Texas (31-12-1) over the weekend, Oklahoma (38-1) kept a unanimous hold on the No. 1 spot in this week’s USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Coaches Poll.

NCAA Releases Latest RPI

NCAA has released an updated RPI. Oklahoma still sits in the top spot, but the Atlantic Coast Conference shows strongly in the rating occupying three of the top six positions with Virginia Tech No. 3, Florida State No. 5, and Duke No. 6. The Rating Percentage Index is used to rank teams based upon wins and losses and its strength of schedule. It is used by the NCAA Selection Committee to choose the field of 64 for postseason play. Lady Vols Weekly Collects 1200th Coaching Victory

Tennessee Coach Karen Weekly notched her 1200th career coach victory on Saturday in a 7-5 win over Texas A&M. Weekly holds a 1,200-409-2 all-time record coaching the Lady Vols after five seasons at Chattanooga. She ranks sixth among active DI head coaches in career victories.

Texas Hands Oklahoma First Loss Of The Season

Down goes No. 1! No. 18 ranked Texas (31-12-1) has handed top-ranked Oklahoma (38-1) their first loss of the 2022 season. The Longhorns downed the previously unbeaten Sooners 4-2 in Austin in the final contest of their three-game Big 12 Series

Thundering Herd’s Smith Gets 600th Win

Marshall Head Coach Megan Smith picked up her 600th career coaching victory today in a 3-2 win over Florida International. Smith is in her fourth season leading the Thundering Herd. Before arriving in Huntington she had head coaching stints at Kansas, Western Carolina, and Young Harris.

Rosenthal Scores 600th Coaching Victory

Concordia Irvine Head Coach Crystal Rosenthal picked up her 600th career coaching victory today in a DH sweep of Holy Names 9-1 and 3-0. Rosenthal has a staggering 600-149-2 record since taking over the Eagles in 2009. CUI is currently 40-5 and undefeated in PacWest play at 26-0.

CNU Tops DIII Poll Again

Christopher Newport (27-1) kept their grasp on the No. 1 spot in this week’s NFCA Division III Top 25 Coaches Poll. The Captains received all 10 first-place votes.

Oklahoma City Returns To Top Spot In NAIA Poll

The latest NAIA Top 25 Coaches Poll has a traditional power back atop it. Oklahoma City (25-2) took over the top spot with six first-place votes to bump previous No. 1 Oregon Tech (33-6) to second as the Owls garnered five first-place votes. Undefeated Mobile (32-0) is gaining steam coming in at No. 3 with eight first-place votes.
