Charlotte Names Breault Head Coach

Courtney Breault has been named the new head coach at Charlotte. Breault has served the past five years as the infield coach and recruiting coordinator at Clemson. She helped lead the Tigers to the NCAA Postseason four seasons, including back-to-back Super Regional appearances in 2022 and 2023.

Olympic Games Coming To OKC

The 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games will have a familiar Oklahoma feel.

The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) announced today that Devon Park in Oklahoma City will serve as the competition venue for the Los Angeles Olympic Games in 2028. Home to the Women’s College World Series, the 13,000 capacity facility is considered by many as the best softball facility in the world.

Nicholson To Norfolk State

Norfolk State has named Angie Nicholson their new head coach. Nicholson spent the past three seasons leading Georgia State where she compiled a 50-111 overall record. She previously coached in the MEAC when she guided the program at Hampton from 2016-2021.

Georgia State Names Muller Head Coach

Georgia State has hired Becca Mueller as their new head coach. Mueller spent the 2024 season as an assistant at UCF where she helped guide the Golden Knights to the NCAA Postseason in their first year of Big 12 play. She has also had coaching stops at California, Ball State, Georgia, Colgate, and her alma mater College of Charleston.

Notre Dame Retains Alum Ganeff

After a national search Notre Dame has decided to stick with the status quo. The Fighting Irish has named Kris Ganeff their new head coach. Ganeff has served on the coaching staff the past 23 seasons. Most recently the Irish Alum was associate head coach. She replaces Deanna Gumpf who retired after leading the program to 882 wins over 23 years.

It is believed Notre Dame chose the safe route after interviewing numerous high-profile candidates, including San Diego State Head Coach and former Olympian Stacey Nuveman Deniz.

Glasco To Lead Texas Tech

Sources have confirmed to RTS that Louisiana Head Coach Gerry Glasco will be named the new head coach at Texas Tech. Glasco spent the past seven seasons leading the Ragin’ Cajuns where he guided them to appearances in the NCAA Postseason every season (minus the canceled 2020 season). He also won the Sun Belt Conference Championship six times. He departs Lafayette with a record of 300-88.

VanBrakle Returns To SEC

Stephanie VanBrakle Prothro has departed as head coach at Memphis to join the coaching staff at Florida. VanBrakle Prothro led the Tigers for two seasons going 14-87. She returns to the SEC where she pitched and coached at her alma mater Alabama. She will coordinate the Gators Pitching efforts.

Salsburg Resigns At Monmouth

Shannon Salsburg has stepped down as head coach at Monmouth. Salsburg coached the Hawks for nine seasons collecting 197 wins along the way. MU went to the NCAA Postseason in back-to-back seasons in 2018 and 2019, while winning conference championships in three consecutive years.

Farmer Named Permanent Coach At UT-Martin

Chelsea Farmer has been named the permanent head coach at Tennessee-Martin. Farmer served as acting head coach of the Skyhawks in the 2024 season leading the program to a 30-22 record. The program alum and decorated star pitcher has served on staff as an assistant since the 2020 season.

Bradley Steps Down At Alabama State

Todd Bradley is stepping down as head coach at Alabama State. Bradley cited a need to focus on his health, as he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis when he was 16. Over the past many years the veteran coach has started to see and experience more complications because of the disease.

Bradley led the Hornets for five seasons. The 2021 squad captured the SWAC Championship and made an appearance in the NCAA Postseason. In 2024 he collected his 500th career coaching victory.
