Concordia University Irvine has announced that Head Coach Crystal Rosenthal has been promoted to full-time athletics director. Rosenthal has served as interim AD since March. The CUI Hall of Famer has coached the Eagles for 12 seasons.
Western Illinois Settles on Goler
After interviewing a list of current and former head coaches from different levels, Western Illinois has settled on Penn State Assistant Coach Alisa Goler to lead their program. Goler a standout at Georgia and with the Chicago Bandits, led the Nittany Lion offense that hit .261 in 2019 and .226 in 2020.
Jannusch Takes Over Direction of Highlands Program
New Mexico Highlands has named Kevin Jannusch their new head coach. Jannusch comes to the Cowgirls after a season as assistant coach at Missouri Valley College. The journeyman coach has also had head coaching stops at Ashford University and University of the Incarnate Word.
Brandeis Names Bishop Head Coach
Brandeis has named Dani Bishop their new head coach. Bishop comes to the Judges after five years as the head coach at Eastern Nazarene College where she amassed a 99-75 record while being named Conference Coach of the Year twice.
Stewart Exits Gustavus Aldophus
Gustavus Aldophus has announced that Britt Stewart has resigned as head coach. Stewart was the seventh head coach for the Lions compiling an overall record of 55-65 and going 26-40 in the MIAC play during her tenure.
Best Resigns at West Virginia State
West Virginia State has announced that Mattie Best has stepped down as head coach. A four year starter for the Yellow Jackets, Best took the reigns of the program in 2018 after serving as an assistant coach. She finishes with a 79-51 record.
Roberts Named Pitching Coach at Cal
New Cal Head Coach Chelsea Spencer has made her first staff hire. Mitch Roberts is joining the Golden Bears and will head up the pitching staff. Roberts arrives from Tulsa where he spent one pandemic shortened season. He also had stops at Ball State and Washington.
Richard Bland College Cancels Athletics for 2020-21
Richard Bland College has seemingly become the first athletic department causality of COVID-19. RBC announced today it will suspend athletics for the 2020-21 year due to “recent data and projections from the American Medical Association (AMA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).” The NJCAA School is located in Petersburg, Virginia. RBC Softball finished the pandemic shortened 2020 season 7-6.
Letellier Steps Down at New England
University of New England has announced that Head Coach Dan Letellier has resigned. Letellier led the Nor’easters for 11 seasons, amassing a 229-166-2 record. Assistant Coach Kim Lorenc will serve as Interim Coach for the 2021 season.
Bemidji Names Gomez Head Coach
Bemidji State has announced that Brittany Gomez has been named head coach. Gomez served as interim head coach for the pandemic shortened 2020 season leading the Beavers to a 10-12 record. She joined the BSU Staff as an assistant coach in 2018.
