Creighton Softball Coach Brent Vigness picked up his 800th victory leading the Blue Jays on Saturday. CU defeated Seton Hall on a walk-off 6-5 to achieve the milestone for the veteran coach. Vigness has coached Creighton for 28 years and has amassed 948 wins in a 33 year career as a head coach.
Linfield Stays No. 1 for Second Week
Linfield (19-1) kept their winning streak going over the weekend at 17 games, and remained No. 1 in this weeks NFCA Division III Top 25 Coaches Poll. The Wildcats were unanimous in the top spot picking up all eight first-place votes.

Pinkston Named AD at Assumption HS
Assumption High School in Kentucky has named former Louisville Softball standout Lisa Pinkston their new Athletic Director. Pinkston has been the head softball coach at AHS since 2015. She joined the Rockets after working on staff at her alma mater UL as Director of Softball Operations since 2010.

Diaz Re-elected Colombian Softball Federation President
Eduin Diaz was unanimously re-elected president of the Colombian Softball Federation after the organization’s general assembly this past Saturday. Diaz said his immediate goal for the federation is to prepare the National Team for the WBSC U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup which is set to be played in Peru August 28-September 5. Another top focus he alluded to will be on the Colombian Softball High Performance Training Center.

Linfield (15-1) has taken over the No. 1 spot in the NFCA Division III Top 25 Coaches Poll. The Wildcats jumped two spots from last week to claim the top position while also riding a 13 game winning streak.

NCAA Releases First RPI of 2021
NCAA has released the first RPI for 2021. The Rating Percentage Index is used to rank teams based upon a team’s wins and losses and its strength of schedule. The RPI is mostly importantly used to help select at-large teams for postseason play.
