Longtime Coach Miller Calls It A Career

Hofstra has announced the retirement of head coach Jay Miller. A Hall of Fame and well-traveled coach in the sport, Miller amassed 1,075 wins over his career. He had head coaching stops at Purdue, Oklahoma City, Missouri, and Mississippi State, before leading the Pride for the last three seasons. It is expected that former program alum, assistant coach, and East Carolina Head Coach Courtney Oliver will be a top target to replace Miller.

Donovan Steps Down At Otterbein

Brooke Donovan has stepped down as head coach at Otterbein University. Donovan helmed the Cardinals for three seasons compiling a 44-45 record. In her first season in 2019 she guided the program to an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Tournament Championship and a bid to the NCAA Postseason.

Taylor To Louisiana Tech

Louisiana Tech has named Nevada Head Coach Josh Taylor to lead their program. Taylor spent the past eight seasons with the Wolfpack compiling a 195-186 record. His 2021 UN squad finished 24-16 and 16-8 in the Mountain West Conference with the squad hitting .289 as a team. Taylor replaces interim head coach Bianca Duran that lead the program through the 2021 season.

Lowe Promoted at Arizona

Following the retirement of legendary coach Mike Candrea, Arizona has promoted Associate Head Coach Caitlin Lowe as the next Wildcats Head Coach. Lowe, one of the greatest players in U of A History, has spent the last nine seasons on the Wildcats Coaching Staff.

Iconic Arizona Coach Mike Candrea Retires

Simply put, he’s Softball’s Godfather…As had been expected for the last several weeks and the topic of conversation in Arizona’s appearance at the WCWS the last week, head coach Mike Candrea has announced his retirement from coaching. Candrea coached the Wildcats for 36 seasons amassing 1,674 wins which stands as the NCAA softball leader. He led Arizona to eight national championships during his legendary tenure, more than any coach in NCAA Softball history. The Wildcats also made 24 trips to the Women’s College World Series, missing just eight times in the last 32 years. The Hall of Famer also coached Fifty-three All-Americans.

Georgia Coach Harris-Champer Retires

Lu Harris-Champer has announced her retirement as head coach at Georgia. Harris-Champer spent 21 seasons as coach of the Bulldogs. In 25 total seasons as a college head coach, she amassed over 1,100 victories. She took teams to 23 NCAA Tournaments and seven Women’s College World Series appearances. She concludes her career in the top-25 all-time in NCAA victories with 1,168.

East Tennessee State And Irwin Part Ways

RTS has learned that East Tennessee State and head coach Brad Irwin have parted ways. Irwin, the all-time winningest coach in program history, spent 11 seasons leading the Buccaneers amassing 179 wins. His 2017 team won the programs first Southern Conference Championship and advanced to the NCAA Postseason for the first time.
