After a national search Notre Dame has decided to stick with the status quo. The Fighting Irish has named Kris Ganeff their new head coach. Ganeff has served on the coaching staff the past 23 seasons. Most recently the Irish Alum was associate head coach. She replaces Deanna Gumpf who retired after leading the program to 882 wins over 23 years.
It is believed Notre Dame chose the safe route after interviewing numerous high-profile candidates, including San Diego State Head Coach and former Olympian Stacey Nuveman Deniz.
