The Ragin’ Cajuns are turning to their past for their future.
Program alum and Louisiana Hall of Fame member Alyson Habetz has been named the program’s new head coach. Habetz returns to Lafayette after spending 25 years on the coaching staff at Alabama, serving as associate head coach from 2008 to 2023 before a short retirement from the game in 2024.
Habetz helped guide the Crimson Tide to six SEC regular season titles, five SEC Tournament titles, 14 Women’s College World Series appearances, and a National Championship in 2012.
