Glenville State has named Sara Scoone their new head coach. The relatively young Scoone was a standout player at conference rival West Virgina Wesleyan, where she graduated and has been an assistant coach since 2018.

Louisiana Tech has announced that Maria Winn has stepped down for personal reasons after one season as head coach. Winn had ultra-successful stops at Tyler Junior College and Western Nebraska Community College amassing 699 wins before coming to Ruston. She was 8-16 with the Lady Techsters in the pandemic shortened 2020 season.

UAB has announced the addition of Scott Woodard to their coaching staff. A veteran coach, Woodard has over 30 years of coaching experience with stints at Auburn, Arizona State and Western New Mexico. He was inducted into the WNMU Hall of Fame in 2017.

‪UT Arlington has hired Matthew Alberghini as an assistant coach. Alberghini comes to UTA after spending last season on the coaching staff at Boston College. He has also had stops on staffs at Washington, Pittsburgh, and Coastal Carolina.

Tulsa has named former Oklahoma All-American Paige Parker to their coaching staff. Parker spent the pandemic shortened 2020 season as a volunteer assistant at OU. Before returning to Norman she was an assistant at DII William Jewell College.

As RTS reported last week, Premier Girl Fastpitch (PGF) and Perfect Game USA (PGUSA) have settled on entering into a strategic partnership/merger to form the new brand of PG Softball both formally announced today. Insiders say the move comes to expand the former PGF brand more regionally across the country while adding logistical and financial support to the newly merged brand moving forward.

Asbury University has named Megan Curry their new head coach. Curry comes to the Eagles after serving on the coaching staff at Mercer working with slap hitters, outfielders, and baserunning. She has also served as an assistant at her alma mater Samford.

Houston has announced that former three-time All-American Florida State Pitcher and USA Softball National Player of the Year Lacey Waldrop has joined their coaching staff. Waldrop has also served on staffs at Duke and Oklahoma before coming to the Cougars.

Sources out of Southern California have informed RTS that Premier Girls Fastpitch (PGF) could be looking to negotiate a deal to sell to or work some sort of a merger/partnership with Perfect Game USA. Perfect Game is a national baseball group based in Iowa that runs large scale events and an athlete scouting service.

Bucknell has announced that head coach Joey Lye has resigned. She went 63-61-1 in three seasons leading the Bison. Lye plans to pursue her opportunity with the Canadian Olympic Team full-time.
