Kansas Associate Head Coach Rich Wieligman is retiring. A mainstay in the collegiate game, Wieligman coached for 25 seasons with stops at Baylor, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, and UT Dallas before arriving in Lawrence. He is probably best known for leading OSU to an appearance at the 2011 Women’s College World Series.

Ohio State Moves On From Schoenly

Ohio State has released head coach Kelly Kovach Schoenly. She led the program at OSU for 12 seasons compiling a record of 367-226-1. The Buckeyes were 155-113-1 in Big Ten Conference play and advanced to the NCAA Postseason five times under Schoenly.

Yegge Contract Not Renewed

Missouri Western State has announced it will not renew the contract of head coach Joe Yegge.

In what has to be considered a puzzling and bonehead move by Athletic Director Andy Carter, Yegge had just finished his third season at MWSU. In those three short seasons he compiled a record of 98-62. Carter became the AD of the Griffons in 2022 after Yegge was hired.

Yegge came to Missouri Western from the coaching staff at DePaul. His name has been brought up as a candidate for the recently opened position with the Blue Demons.

Benjamin Resigns At OPSU

Marc Benjamin has resigned as head coach at Oklahoma Panhandle State. Benjamin coached the Aggies for four seasons amassing a 96-100 record. He led OPSU to a school record in wins in a single season (35), coached an All-American Selection (Kaylie Grove), and received votes for the NAIA Top 25 for the first time in program history during his tenure.
